SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg baseball dropped the final two games of their NCAC series to Wabash on Wednesday, 4-0 and 8-6. After being no-hit in game one, the Tigers managed to claw back and out-hit the Little Giants in game two, but five errors plagued Wittenberg in the two-run defeat. Wittenberg now moves to 6-12 overall on the season and 2-6 in NCAC play.
GAME ONE NOTES
- Jordan Hitt (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeasern) and Luke Black (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham) combined for six innings pitched, allowing six hits and three earned runs.
- Wittenberg had two base runners reach on errors, but did not record a hit off of Wabash's starter in the contest, losing 4-0.
GAME TWO NOTES
- The Tigers bounced back in game two, trailing 4-3 in the fifth inning after a Timmy Bates (Westerville, Ohio/South) smashed a two RBI double.
- For the second straight time, freshman Noble Moore (Deleware, Ohio/Hayes) shut the door on the mound in a relief assignment; this time throwing 2.1 innings of two hit baseball.
- Will Cousins (Medfield, Massachusetts/Medfield), Brad Malott (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) and Bates combined for seven hits in the 8-6 loss.
UP NEXT
- Wittenberg awaits another home stand this weekend as the Big Red of Denison come to Springfield.
- The Tigers will honor their Alumni in attendance on April 16th as first pitch of the double-header is set for noon.
- April 17th is Senior Recognition Day at Carleton Davidson Stadium as the Tigers thank this year's senior class for all of there hard work over the past four years.
