Bio

"Van" VanHyning, a 1930 graduate, was a three-time All-Buckeye and All-Ohio selection at end and is remembered in Ohio football annals for scoring a touchdown in a win over heralded Ohio State in Columbus. A superb pass catcher, he was later a successful football and basketball coach at East Palestine High School in Ohio. VanHyning retired as a school administrator in Pompano Beach, Fla. where he now resides.
