Bio

A 1964 graduate, Al Thrasher was a three-time All-America basketball player and the first Tiger to score over 500 points in a single season. As a freshman starter, he helped lead Ray Mear's team to the NCAA title. In high school at Salem Local High School, now West Liberty-Salem, he was named Ohio Class A "Player of the Year" after his team won the state championship at a time when there were only "A" and "B" classes in high school sports.
