Tigers Lose To Denison In First Round Of NCAC Tournament
Seeded seventh, Wittenberg drops a 5-0 decision to the Big Red to open conference tournament action at Oberlin.
OBERLIN, Ohio - The Wittenberg women's tennis team opened North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament play with a 5-0 loss to Denison in a match played at Oberlin College.
The match was played to decision, meaning that four singles matches were not completed because Denison already had enough points to advance. The second-seeded Big Red improved to 14-5 overall and moved into the NCAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday against third-seeded Kenyon.
Wittenberg, which is now 5-10 on the season, will return to action on Saturday as well. The seventh-seeded Tigers will play a consolation match at 9 a.m. against No. 6 seed Wooster.
