Women's Soccer Caps Day Off With 3-0 Win Over Oberlin

Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg women's soccer team rounded off another successful weekend at Edwards-Maurer Field and around campus, taking down the Yeowomen of Oberlin College 3-0. The two teams battled it out through the first half and some before Jordyn Wright would put Wittenberg on the board with the first goal in the 61st minute, capitalizing on the Julia Smith pass. Just a few minutes later Betsy Cadwallader would find Carly Stang on the feed to give Wittenberg the 2-0 lead, giving Stang her first collegiate goal for the red and white.

  • Megan Davis would find the back of the Oberlin net in the 84th minute to stamp the Wittenberg win with a penalty kick goal.
  • Hannah Wilson kept a clean sheet making three saves on three Yeowomen shots on goal.
  • Wittenberg managed a balanced attack throughout, leading the shot total 8-7 on the day.

"We've been playing well this year but have been missing a piece to the puzzle, we all knew what it was, scoring goals. We asked them to believe in themselves and in their teammates and they did that today. All 25 of them were in it together and we scored some quality goals to give us the win. Very proud of the effort and excited for what's to come," said Head Coach Katie Robinson.

  • The Tigers will return to action on Saturday, October 7 when they host NCAC rival Wooster at 1:30 PM.
