Wittenberg Announces Athletics Hall Of Honor Class Of 2012
Seven Wittenberg University greats will be inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Honor during 2012 Homecoming Weekend ceremonies, Oct. 5-7. Ken Bonner '89, Eddie Ford '75, Eric Horstman '89, Lamar Kilgore ‘55, Karen Larson '96, Gary Sitler '78 and Tom Weller '88 will join 194 other Wittenberg greats who have previously been inducted into the university's Athletics Hall of Honor.

Swimming & Diving Raises Awareness, Funds For Cancer Research
An entry on the Wittenberg University men's and women's swimming and diving team blog puts it plainly, "It is nearly impossible to find anyone whole life has not been touched by cancer." With that in mind, team members tackled the illness the best way they know how, joining hundreds of other college, high school and club teams across the country to raise awareness and funds for cancer research as part of the sixth annual Hour of Power Relay.

Beth Hemminger Selected As New Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
Wittenberg Director of Athletics and Recreation Garnett Purnell has announced the hiring of Beth Hemminger as the university's new women's lacrosse head coach. Hemminger replaces Nichole Johnson, who resigned in May and has since accepted the same position at Savannah College of Art & Design.

Kwame Lloyd Selected As New Wittenberg Women's Soccer Head Coach
Wittenberg Director of Athletics and Recreation Garnett Purnell has announced the hiring of Kwame Lloyd as the university's new women's soccer head coach. Lloyd replaces Norm Riker, who resigned in May to take the same position at Connecticut College.

Football Team, Scholar Athletes Earn Mention In National Preseason Publications
The Wittenberg University football team, which returns nine starters from last year's 10-1 team, once again has experts believing it has the talent to make a run at a national championship. The publishers of Lindy's 2011 College Football Preview ranked the Tigers 14th in their NCAA Division III preseason poll, while publishers of The Sporting News ranked the Tigers eighth in their NCAA Division III preseason poll.

Men's Basketball Team To Prep For 2011-12 Season With Trip To Canada
Following a similar plan as NCAA Division I powerhouse programs Ohio State and Kentucky, Wittenberg University's men's basketball program will participate in a preseason training trip to Canada to prepare for the 2011-12 season. The Tigers are scheduled to play four games between Oct. 15-18 in four different Ontario cities.
