For most of Wittenberg University's student-athletes, the summer vacation has arrived and they are already busying themselves with a variety of other endeavors. Their absence from campus hasn't slowed the stream of postseason honors and awards, however.

Not a bad start to the trip of a lifetime for the Wittenberg University men's and women's basketball teams. Touring China for a unique trip that will combine educational opportunities with athletic competitions, the Tiger teams played their first games in the Far East on Monday and came up with a pair of victories.

Baseball Standout Nate Williams Selected Academic All-District First Team
Wittenberg senior Nate Williams will add another cap to his collection on Saturday, May 18 during Wittenberg's 157th annual commencement ceremonies. Just a week before he dons his mortar board in honor of his years of hard work in the classroom, Williams was honored for his athletic and academic prowess by being named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District IV College Division Baseball First Team.

Wittenberg, University of Dayton to Play Men's Basketball Exhibition, Football in Future Years
The University of Dayton and Wittenberg University have announced that they have agreed to meet on the basketball court next year, and on the football field in 2005 and 2006.

She may have earned her 100th coaching victory on Sunday against Allegheny College, but Wittenberg University Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Nancy Beck was more concerned with the impact of a second consecutive one-goal overtime win on her team's psyche than on her career record.

Wittenberg Basketball Coaches Earn NCAC Coach of the Year Honors
Two coaches who are no strangers to success picked up more hardware for their trophy cases on Monday. Wittenberg University Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Brown and Women's Basketball Head Coach Pam Smith were both named North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in a vote of their peers, the conference office announced.

Another banner fall sports season has reaped tangible rewards for 38 Wittenberg University athletes who were selected to All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams. In addition, several Tiger athletes have received regional and national recognition from various organizations.
