Ellen Crosbie came to Wittenberg in 1998 as the head athletic trainer. In 2015, she added the title of director of sport performance.
Crosbie has a strong and varied background in the field, starting with her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, earned in 1990. She added a master's of education from UC the following year and headed into the professional ranks at Shawnee State University and Huntington Physical Therapy as a certified athletic trainer from 1991-93.
From 1992-98, Crosbie served Glen Este High School in Cincinnati as an athletic trainer while working at several other locations as well. From 1992-94, Crosbie gained experience at Southern Ohio Sports Medicine, while working with Dr. Tim Kremcheck, Wittenberg's team orthopedic surgeon and medical director of the Cincinnati Reds. From there, Crosbie went to Kentucky Rehabilitation Services from 1994-96 and Spectrum Rehabilitation Services from 1996-98 as a certified athletic trainer.
Crosbie resides in Urbana with her husband Dave. They have three children, McKenzie, Ben and Allie.
